Computer coding empowers kids to not only consume digital media and technology, but also to create it. Instead of simply playing a video game or using an app, they can make their own video game, or even their own website.

Generally, experts agree that children should be taught how to code at the earliest age possible. All children develop various skills at different rates and with different learning styles.

Several studies have shown that children who code from the beginning of their elementary school education achieve better academic performance throughout their education. When compared to children who don’t engage in coding-related learning, a higher percentage of children who start coding early gain interest in STEM, both in college and professionally.

Yes, programming for kids has come a long way in recent years, and now it’s possible for even very young children as young as age 6 to learn the basics of game design and coding. They will learn to build their video games by using blocks of code, which is an exciting way for them to develop computational thinking skills while having fun!

Scratch is one of the most popular drag n drop block coding languages for kids. It is a great way to introduce a young mind to the infinite world of programming. We highly recommend Scratch as a coding for beginners platform.

Great question! All you need is a computer or iPad with an internet connection to get started. Our usual recommendation is a Windows or Mac computer or laptop, with a broadband internet connection, and a good set of headphones for a great online kids coding class experience.
